Louisville, KY Remodeler ranks No. 6 in the 10–24 employee category with an employee survey score of 95.49%.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A&S Construction of Louisville, Inc. was named one of the 2026 Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville by Louisville Business First, ranking No. 6 in the 10–24 employee category. The program ranks employers based on anonymous employee surveys. A&S earned an overall score of 95.49%.

A&S's 16-person team is built around three core principles: Communication, Integrity and Quality of work. The company keeps an open-door policy at every level. Its team volunteers around the community and works together with Habitat for Humanity. Other traditions include golf outings, team celebrations at local entertainment venues, an annual Christmas dinner party and free Friday lunches, which employees name as their favorite perk. At the end of each year, employees also get extra days off in recognition of their contributions throughout the year.

"Company growth awards are great, but there is nothing more impactful than receiving an award for a well-built company culture. Our staff are amazing and they continually go above and beyond every day to ensure our customers have the very best construction experience," said Sean Schmitt, co-founder of A&S Construction. "Our employees are our most valuable asset, and we empower them to make decisions at every level of the organization."

Co-founders Sean Schmitt and Alexander Johns have been friends since grade school. They launched A&S in 2021 after the company they both worked for shut down during the collapse in international travel. A&S has grown quickly since then, and that growth has created real advancement opportunities for the team.

"In a close-knit, fast-growing company, there's always room for people to step up and take on more," said Alexander Johns, co-founder. "We celebrate wins together, in team meetings, at customer appreciation events and on company outings. Seeing our team rate us this highly tells us the culture we're building is working."
