A compelling and deeply personal collection of eight memoirs is capturing the attention of readers seeking truth, healing, and transformation. Rooted in lived experience and centered in Mount Vernon, Ohio, this powerful body of work begins with “Ghost of a Phantom: A Three Generational Journey from Trauma to Triumph,” a profound exploration of inherited trauma, survival, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
Through vivid storytelling and emotional honesty, “Ghost of a Phantom” introduces readers to a multi-generational narrative that reveals the hidden impact of trauma and the courage required to break its cycle. Across the series, the author explores the lasting effects of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Complex-PTSD) - a central and unifying theme woven throughout most of the memoirs.
The Complete Memoir Collection
This transformative series includes eight interconnected memoirs:
- “Ghost of a Phantom: A Three Generational Journey from Trauma to Triumph”
- “Leftovers: Healing Wounds That Do Not Bleed”
- “Tiptoeing Through a Trigger Minefield”
- “Kaleidoscope: The Girl That Looked Fine”
- “The Wounds Behind the Badge, Desk, and Scrubs”
- “Reclaiming Her: A Woman's Way Back to Herself”
- “The Roadmap to Being a Foster Kid”
- “Footprints in the Paradise Forest”
Each title stands on its own while contributing to a larger narrative of survival, resilience, identity, and healing.
“Special focus: generational healing—turning trauma and CPTSD into resilience, awareness, and lasting change.”
A meaningful component of this body of work is its dedicated support for fostering children and adolescents navigating trauma. These resources include:
- A healing-centered collection of stories featuring animals, designed to help children process trauma in a safe, relatable, and compassionate way
- A trauma workbook designed specifically for teens, offering guided exercises, reflection prompts, and tools for emotional regulation and resilience
- The memoir “The Roadmap to Being a Foster Kid,” providing guidance, validation, and insight for young people navigating the foster care experience. The book the author wishes was handed to her the day she arrived into the foster care system.
Together, these works create an accessible and supportive foundation for young readers seeking understanding and healing.
Beyond Memoir: Group Studies & Healing Integration
A distinguishing feature of this series is its expansion beyond storytelling. Most of the memoirs conclude with guided group study sections, making them ideal for:
- Support groups – Book Clubs
- Education - Focused
- Mental health professionals
- Workplace wellness programs
- Community and faith-based organizations
These structured discussions encourage meaningful dialogue around:
- Layered and cumulative trauma
- The lived experience of Complex-PTSD
- Emotional suppression and survival-based coping patterns
- The physical, emotional, and psychological cost of showing up for work while carrying unresolved trauma
- The impact of chronic stress on the nervous system and overall health
By integrating these group studies, the memoirs become more than narratives-they serve as tools for collective understanding, connection, and healing.
Companion trauma workbooks further support this work, offering practical exercises and guided reflection for both individual and group use.
Bringing Awareness to Complex-PTSD
A defining element of the series is its honest focus on Complex-PTSD, a condition that is frequently misunderstood or overlooked. Through lived-experience storytelling, the collection highlights how prolonged trauma, especially across generations, affects emotional health, identity, relationships, and physical well-being.
This work aims to:
- Normalize conversations around trauma and mental health
- Provide language for deep personal experiences
- Reduce isolation by fostering shared understanding
- Encourage healing through awareness, courage, and reflection
A Message of Hope and Transformation
At its core, this memoir collection is a testament to transformation. While addressing difficult and deeply personal realities, the series ultimately delivers a powerful message: healing is possible. Cycles can be broken. Identity can be reclaimed. There is a path forward.
