Defense Tech Guidance Moves Higher With a Dec. 11 Funding Deadline Ahead
Canada NewsWire
WASHINGTON, Nov. 4, 2026
WASHINGTON, Nov. 4, 2026 /CNW/ -- American News Group News Commentary - Palantir's U.S. commercial revenue overtook its U.S. government revenue for the first time in the third quarter, and over the past two weeks government technology contractors from Booz Allen Hamilton to BigBear.ai have reported larger backlogs and, in most cases, raised full-year targets. All of it is playing out while federal agencies operate under a stopgap funding law that runs through Dec. 11. Active Companies from around the markets with current developments this week include: Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR), Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corporation (NYSE: BAH), CACI International Inc (NYSE: CACI), Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN), BigBear.ai Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BBAI).
Four of the five companies below lifted at least part of their full-year outlooks in their latest quarterly reports, while Parsons narrowed its revenue and adjusted EBITDA guidance ranges and reiterated their midpoints. The reports arrive in a budget year in which none of the 12 regular fiscal 2027 appropriations bills has been enacted, according to the Congressional Research Service status table on congress.gov. The Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027, which became Public Law 119-103 on Sept. 2, funds most federal programs at fiscal 2026 levels through the earlier of Dec. 11, 2026, or enactment of the applicable appropriations act. The House Appropriations Committee approved its fiscal 2027 Defense bill, H.R. 9495, by a vote of 34 to 27 on June 24, and the bill's latest action on congress.gov is its June 26 placement on the House Union Calendar.
The annual defense policy bill is also unfinished. The House passed its fiscal 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, H.R. 8800, by a vote of 216 to 212 on July 22, and the Senate received it on Sept. 14. The Senate's own version, S. 4784, was reported by the Armed Services Committee on June 15, and its most recent action came on July 27, when a motion to proceed to consideration was made, according to congress.gov.
That calendar now runs alongside a change in party control of both chambers. Democrats won majorities in the House and the Senate in Tuesday's midterm elections, according to race calls by The Associated Press, and as of 2:26 a.m. ET Wednesday, AP had not yet called five Senate races. The Dec. 11 funding date falls before the new Congress convenes on Jan. 3, 2027.

Parsons narrowed its 2026 revenue guidance to $6.25 billion to $6.45 billion while reiterating the midpoint.
"While we continue to navigate procurement timing and geopolitical uncertainty, the alignment of our differentiated capabilities with our customers' most critical national security and infrastructure needs reinforces our confidence in Parsons' outlook," said Carey Smith, chair, president, and chief executive officer of Parsons.
