To take part in daycare, dogs must be current on core vaccinations, including DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella, and must have a current fecal floatation test. The fecal floatation test screens for intestinal parasites that can spread between pets in group settings. Any of these requirements can be completed on-site at the time of a pet's daycare appointment if needed, allowing owners to address vaccination or testing gaps without scheduling a separate visit.
"Daycare gives dogs a productive outlet during the day and helps them build comfort around other animals and people," said Erin Carnes, a representative of Monett Veterinary Hospital. "The vaccination and parasite screening requirements exist to protect every animal in the group, and having those services available on-site makes participation straightforward for owners."
The daycare service is part of the broader range of care offered at the facility, which also includes boarding for both dogs and cats, grooming, preventive care, and surgical services. Because the daycare operates within a veterinary hospital, medical staff are present during operating hours.
"Owners often tell us their dogs are calmer and more settled at home after a day of supervised play," Carnes said. "For working households or anyone who wants their dog to stay active and socialized, the daytime structure can make a meaningful difference."
